Confection is a narrative video that explores the nuanced and complex ways in which trauma becomes a multi-generational cycle.

The character in Confection is staged as a tidy, poised, and proper woman (with her clean white outfit and rubber cleaning gloves), but rather than completing domestic household tasks, she attaches baby parts to various tools in order to destroy, consume, and attempt to rebuild a cake. Her aggression is revealed as her façade degrades throughout the span of the video. Visual cues– such as her nails growing through her rubber cleaning gloves and the spider walking across the table—allow the character's true self to be revealed.

This character blurs the lines between monstrosity and femininity, while raising questions about motherhood, trauma, and entropy.
